Dayton Haigney, JDDayton Haigney serves as the principal mediator of Pacific Atlantic Mediation. He brings a wealth of experience as a trial lawyer to the conflict resolution field. As a practicing attorney, he spent over twenty years representing clients in the areas of securities arbitration, commercial litigation and personal injury.
Dayton graduated cum laude from St. Lawrence University in 1984. He received his law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law where he served as President of the Student Bar Association and acted as the Judicial Chair of the University Executive Committee. Dayton has been involved with thousands of litigated cases. As a trial lawyer, he selected hundreds of juries and took verdicts in over seventy-five cases. He possesses an in-depth understanding of the laws of the states of New York and California. He brings a calming demeanor to emotionally charged issues. Dayton is certified and serves on the mediation panels operated by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA-DR), the United States District Court (SDNY) and the New York Supreme Court Commercial Division. Dayton is admitted to practice before all of the state and federal courts within New York (SDNY, NDNY, EDNY & WDNY) as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. Dayton mediates cases in the New York City and Los Angeles Metropolitan areas. |
Laura Fischer, JDLaura Fischer acts as a mediator at Pacific Atlantic Mediation focusing primarily on intellectual property and patent disputes. She a registered attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark office. She has a substantial technical background in biological sciences, with a focus in molecular biology and immunology. She is well versed in all areas of the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Laura practiced as a patent attorney for Fish and Neave (now Ropes and Gray), as well as in-house counsel with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. Her legal career exposed her to all areas of patent practice including prosecution, litigation and interference. Laura also possesses substantial legal experience in the areas of entertainment law and estate planning. Laura received her law degree from Duke Law School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a biology major from the University of Georgia at Athens. Prior to law school she worked at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta researching emerging pathogens in the immunocompromised and HIV population. Laura is admitted to practice before state and federal courts within the State of New York, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and the Federal Circuit. Laura is available to mediate cases in New York City. |
